The Pursuit of Persephone (Mills/Reichel) - New York Times
"David Abeles is good as Fitzgerald's illustrious classmate Edmund Wilson."

Henry and Mudge (Kerrigan/Lowdermilk) (Lucille Lortel Theater, NYC) - Talkin' Broadway
"With bulging, expectant eyes and a Grand Canyon-sized smile that droops to his feet when disappointed, Abeles has the perfect Chuck Jones malleability of features for Mudge. He speaks and sings with color and liveliness further befitting a living version of Sucie Stevenson's affectionate illustrations for the books. (Paul C. Weimer's skewed-perspective set pays its own attractive tribute.) The more Abeles romps about the stage performing tricks or rescuing Henry when he wanders off into the woods, the more he seems to channel pure theatrical joy. This resonated especially strongly with those youthful critics: Never have I heard a TheatreWorks audience squeal with wonder and delight more than the one at the performance I attended. Abeles did exactly what Mudge must: He worked his way into your heart."

The Gay-No-More Telethon (NYC Fringe 2008) - Talkin Broadway
"...winningly led by Abeles and [Gerti Lee] James, who as the evening’s personable (and unsettling) emcees sell the comedy without ever overselling it."

The Gay-No-More Telethon (NYC Fringe 2008) - The Edge
"Among the very strong cast, David Abeles is superb"

Piano Men (Florida Studio Theatre, Sarasota)
"David Abeles’ renditions of Elton John’s “Crocodile Rock,” and Little Richard’s “Long Tall Sally,” provide a change of pace, but his return to Billy Joel, with his “She’s Got a Way,” casts a haunting whiff of romance across the room."

The Pursuit of Persephone (Mills/Reichel) - Theater Mania Review
"Another find is David Abeles as Edmund Wilson. A tall fellow who sings robustly, he's a Monty Wooley in the making."
